Descendant (The Shift Chronicles, #1) by S.M. Gaither

A Deadly Encounter...
A vicious werewolf attack leaves Alex infected, confused, and suddenly surrounded by strangers who all claim they want to help her. All she has to do is decide who to trust.

A Dangerous Boy...
Kael is infuriating. Arrogant. And entirely too hot for his own good. He also has secrets-- and a dark past that could turn her whole world upside down.

An Ancient Blood Pact...
The only thing keeping the human population safe from the shifters and lycans is the pact. The pact that Alexs grandfather initiated. The one that only she can break.

An Impossible Choice...
Breaking the pact means igniting war. Refusing to break it may mean losing the most important person in her life.

When the moment comes, on whose side will Alex stand? And how much will she be willing to sacrifice?

More like storming, with gale-force winds and hail the size of golf balls. Enough of this sunny sky and cool breeze nonsense. My dad was the guest of honor. The sad part? That really was a story last November.

I had a feeling I would like this book once I read what it was about but I was still a bit skeptical due to the type of werewolf books out there nowadays. This being said I loved the story. As soon as I started to read this book I got so hooked I ended up staying up till 5am before I even realized it was that late well I guess 5 is considered early not late. The relationships between the characters seemed really believable as did the dialog. The story is fairly fast pace. The main character being a 16 year old means that at times she can be annoying.
