The advice can be summed up as just stop feeling depressed. The author even says at one point to be happy youre sane enough to follow his advice and just start thinking happier thoughts... So I guess if we cant just snap out of depression we must be insane. Comforting.
The book is padded with a section on how to tell if youre depressed. I didnt read this book to find out if Im officially depressed, i read it to hopefully get advice.
Im not sure the author understands the symptoms he mentions. In one breath he says that a symptom of depression is not enjoying doing the things that you used to live doing. Then a few pages later, apparently the solution to depression is to do things you enjoy doing. Which would be... Nothing.
This book could also benefit from a proofreader. Sometimes the author uses the wrong word, for instance.
If youre depressed, stay away from this book. The message is basically think happier thoughts. Weve heard that before, it doesnt help.
