Lesson Plan on the Six Days of Creation for Pre-K Students

In this creation lesson plan for preschool, students will learn about how the world was created in 6 days as well as what was created on each day. Ask children to list their favorite parts of nature, and write their responses on the board or chart paper. Then ask them who created all of the parts of nature. Explain that God created them all a long, long time ago. To develop this concept, read a book about the creation of the world, such as 7 Days of Creation by Mindy Macdonald.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Although we often take our surroundings for granted, the Earth that we inhabit and everything on it is a miracle of creation. Out of nothing — emptiness — formlessness — God created every splendid thing that surrounds us! When we stare into the eyes of a magnificent animal or become mesmerized by the never-ending waves beating upon the shore at the beach, we are looking directly into the heart of God! God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.

Published in Creation 24 1 —35 , And yet, there are many who say that God created over millions of years, or that He used the process of evolution to bring about the universe we see today. So, why do we believe that, according to Genesis 1 , God created in six normal-length days? It is important that we understand what Moses originally wrote, because those are the words God inspired. Yom is the word used in Genesis 1 when God describes what He created on each day. So, how do we know which definition of yom Moses meant in Genesis 1? The meaning depends on the context —the words surrounding yom.

  1. God created everything in six, hour days and on the seventh day He rested. This original creation was perfect, without sin or death (Genesis 1). The Bible tells us that “in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”.
