Midnight Sun (Twilight, #1.5) by Stephenie Meyer

Midnight Sun is the much anticipated retelling of Twilight from Edward Cullens perspective. An unedited partial draft was illegally leaked onto the internet in 2008; consequently, author Stephenie Meyer put the project on indefinite hold.

Shortly afterward, she posted a letter to her fans on her website including a link to the entire partial draft of the book so that those who wanted to read it could do so legally and with her consent; see URL for more information.

Midnight Sun: Edward’s Version of Twilight

Midnight Sun is an exercise in character development that got wildly out of hand as do many of my projects. After all, Bella only knows that an incredibly gorgeous boy is looking at her funny. Meanwhile, Edward is suffering through one of the most momentous days of his very long life! I found myself thinking his words in the middle of the night and jotting down phrases he would use while I was waiting in line at the post office. As soon as I finished my real work, I sat down and let Edward get his say. When I finished, I was truly pleased with my creation.

Midnight Sun is an unreleased companion novel to the book Twilight by author Stephenie Meyer. The work retells the events of Twilight from the perspective of Edward Cullen instead of that of the series' usual narrating character Bella Swan. On August 28, , Meyer halted the writing of Midnight Sun in response to the leak of twelve chapters of the unfinished manuscript on the Internet. She stated, "If I tried to write Midnight Sun now, in my current frame of mind, James would probably win and all the Cullens would die, which wouldn't dovetail too well with the original story. In any case, I feel too sad about what has happened to continue working on Midnight Sun , and so it is on hold indefinitely.

Life and Death Twilight Reimagined Audiobook Part 1

The Twilight Saga has been at the center of many debates, but nobody can dispute its role in bringing on a giant wave of YA adaptations to the mainstream eye. Told from the perspective of year-old Bella Swan, the books chronicle her new life in Forks, Washington, where she meets the broodingly handsome Edward Cullen. However, Meyer was so distraught over the leak of the unfinished draft that she stopped writing Midnight Sun. The list below contains spoilers from all twelve chapters of Midnight Sun as well as the original Twilight book. In fact, he actually finds her quite ordinary and uninteresting. Soon Bella will fade from the spotlight, and Edward can continue his umpteenth stint as a high school student. He briefly feels sorry for Bella, whose only seating option is next to him, but his thirst rears its head and changes his outlook.

Summit Entertainment Ten years ago, Stephenie Meyer published "Twilight" — the first of a four-part saga following Bella Swan about vampires, werewolves, and, above all, true love. Just three years after the first novel was released, a leaked manuscript called "Midnight Sun" found its way online. In the unfinished work, Meyer had rewritten the first book from the point of view of Edward instead of Bella. It was a hit with fans, but Meyer was deeply upset by the leak of what she called a "messy and flawed" draft. In response, she publicly posted the 12 unfinished chapters, but warned fans that it would likely remain incomplete.
