Take Me Home Yearbook by Liam Payne

Liam was born in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, England to Geoff and Karen Payne. He has two older sisters, Nicola and Ruth. Liam was born three weeks early, and as a result he had a lot of health problems. He spent the first four years of his life in and out of the hospital having regular tests done. Doctors noticed one of his kidneys was scarred and dysfunctional. To help cope with the pain he had 32 injections in his arm in the morning and evening as a child.

From the age of six, Liam had already started showing signs of singing talent. He would sing for his relatives or pub crowds on karaoke. However, he had his heart set on becoming an Olympic runner, and was a member of the Wolverhampton and Bilston Athletics Club. He would wake up at 5am every day to run five miles before school. His running dream ended at 14 years old when he narrowly missed out on a spot in the England schools team. At that point, he decided to completely focus on his singing.

He started perfecting his singing skills at the age of 12 when he joined Pink Productions, a performing arts group based in Wolverhampton, that allowed him to showcase his talent in front of a real audience for the first time.

Liam completed 11 GCSEs at St Peter’s Collegiate School before moving on to study music technology at Wolverhampton College’s Paget Road campus, which he hoped would help him learn more about the industry.

Due to only having one working kidney, Liam avoids alcohol and cant drink too much of anything — even water. He places a lot of importance on staying healthy.

A global sensation, the album garnered several hit singles and sold millions of copies worldwide. It also faired pretty well with critics, who appreciated the band's mix of melodic songcraft and catchy, dance-oriented material that, while slickly produced, avoided the commercial cynicism and adult contemporary posturing of some of their '80s and '90s forebears. Rather than mess with a good thing, One Direction stick with this formula on the band's sophomore effort, 's Take Me Home. Once again working largely with Sweden's Carl Falk, Rami Yacoub, and Savan Kotecha, who produced Up All Night, One Direction deliver another immediately catchy mix of dancey pop that maximizes the group's shared lead-vocal approach and peppy, upbeat image. This album highlights even more than their previous one how much One Direction's mix of punchy guitars over snappy beats, handclaps, and bright synthesizers has in common with the positive, fun-loving tone of '70s bubblegum pop, as well as more contemporary bands like the Jonas Brothers and perennial guilty pleasure Hanson.

As a follow-up to One Direction's internationally successful debut album Up All Night , Take Me Home was written in groups and has an average of just under five songwriters per track. Largely recorded and composed in Sweden during , Savan Kotecha , Rami Yacoub and Carl Falk , who composed One Direction's hits, " What Makes You Beautiful " and " One Thing ", spent six months in Stockholm developing songs for the album, and were able to shape melodies around the members' tones. The album's songs are characterised by metronomic pop , vocal harmonies, hand claps, prominent electric guitar riffs, bright synthesizers, a homogeneous sound and message, and rotations of lead vocals. The members' voices are presented individually on the record, and its lyricism speaks of falling in love, unrequited love , the insistence that flaws are what make a person unique, commitment, jealousy, and longing for past significant others. Take Me Home garnered mostly positive reviews from music critics.
